Men's Track And Field Competes At George Mason And Rider

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's track and field team competed at the George Mason Invitational and Rider Invitational on Saturday in split-squad action. The Explorers came in 11th of 14 at Rider.

George Mason Invitational
Vince Perozze finished 15th in the 1500m run (3:50.26) and Zach Sullivan came in 17th (3:51.17) to pace the Blue and Gold in the event. Paul Reilly and Wayne Bartholomew yielded similar results in the 800m, placing 15th and 16th, respectively with times of 1:51.22 and 1:51.23.

Rider Invitational
Kevin Day was the top individual distance performer for the Explorers at the event, earning six team points with his third place effort in the 800m run (1:55.88, PR). Chris Trimble bested his previous PR in the event by over three seconds with a 1:55.88, picking up a team point for the Explorers with the second place performance in heat two.

Dan Day clocked a PR in the 1500m with a 4:02.62, placing sixth in the second one heat, earning two points for the Blue and Gold. Victor Stott finished second in the section two heat in the 100m hurdles with a 16.56, good for one team point.

Sprinting counterpart Oren Buie tallied four team points for La Salle with his 11.26 showing in the 100m, placing fourth in the section one heat. Buie tacked on five more points with a first place section two heat performance in the 200m, crossing the finish line at 22.83.
