PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle men's distance medley relay team placed sixth at the Penn Relays on Friday afternoon, clocking a 9:38.07. The Explorers finished less than a second shy of the school's five-year old record and placed ahead of Columbia, Kentucky, and Princeton.
Nick Crits ran the opening 1200m leg in 2:56.3 and handed the baton to
Wayne Bartholomew, who registered a 49.2 in the 400m.
Paul Reilly posted a 1:50.2 in the 800m and
Alfredo Santana anchored the run with a 4:02.4 1600m finish.
Reilly and Bartholomew will compete again on Saturday at 4:40 p.m. in the 4x800m relay Championship. They will be joined by
Sean Mallon and
Brett Shepherd in the final event the La Salle men will compete in at the Relays.
