PHILADELPHIA - The women's rowing team completed its final tune-up races before next weekend's Atlantic 10 Championship, as the Explorers raced in the Kelly Cup on the Schuylkill River this weekend.

The varsity eight finished fourth out of the six city boats competing. The Explorers clocked a 6:56.7, beating out Philadelphia University (7:02.0) and Villanova (7:06.1). Drexel won in 6:36.6, followed by Temple (6:41.1) and Saint Joseph's (6:45.3).

The novice eight finished third out of four boats, racing a time of 7:37.0 and topping Villanova (7:42.9). Temple won in 7:07.5 and Drexel was second in 7:17.8.

The second varsity eight also competed this weekend, clocking a 7:28.6 to finish fifth out of five boats. Drexel won in 6:49.6, followed by Temple (6:54.7), Saint Joseph's (7:08.0) and Villanova (7:20.5).

The Explorers return to the water on Saturday, May 4th, when they head to the Atlantic 10 Championship on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.
