La Salle Volleyball Inks Two Student-Athletes To National Letters Of Intent

PHILADELPHIA – La Salle head volleyball coach Dave Stever has announced the signing of two standout players to National Letters of Intent for the 2013-14 academic year.

Phoebe Cook
Charlotte, N.C. (Charlotte Christian)
Right Side/Defensive Specialist – 5'9”

“I look forward to the opportunity to grow spiritually, mentally, and physically as a student-athlete at La Salle. I am privileged to represent this great university and contribute to the success of our team this year!"

Competed as a member of the Carolina Union Volleyball Club 18's National Team...two year varsity starter at Myers Park High School...once recorded team high seven blocks in a game...voted Most Improved as a sophomore…started as a senior at Charlotte Christian School...helped guide Charlotte Christian to state semi-finals...designated Most Athletic and Most Spirited…Named to the Mecklenburg County Track Honor Roll in the Women's 300-Meter Intermediate Hurdles as a freshman

Head coach Dave Stever: Phoebe is a high flyer with a great vertical jump that will contribute to our offense. The first thing that struck me about Phoebe was her very outgoing personality and maturity for a high school senior. Phoebe will not only offer her offensive skills to the team but will offer communication skills to what has been a very quiet team.

Ashlee Felton
Gambrills, Md. (Arundel Senior High School)
Middle Blocker – 5'11”

"I am extremely excited to be continuing my volleyball career at LaSalle. I really look forward to the season and being an Explorer."

Baltimore Sun 1st team All-Metro…Washington Post first team All-Metro…Anne Arundel County Player of the Year…Anne Arundel first team All-County…MPSSA 4A State Finalist (2011, 2012)…Varsity Team Captain 2012.

Head coach Dave Stever: Ashlee is another great athlete that will contribute to our offense. Ashlee's vertical reaches just above 10 feet. I think Ashlee can play any offensive position which will give us a lot of flexibility.
