LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Rider Broncs threatened with two baserunners in the bottom of the ninth, but sophomore
Adam Cherry induced a two-out flyout to preserve a 3-2 Explorer win on Tuesday afternoon at Sonny Pittaro Field. The home team committed five fielding errors and the Blue and Gold capitalized with three unearned runs.

Kevin Baron on a single to left field in the top half of the fourth to create a 1-0 La Salle edge. Baron reached on a fielding error by the Rider shortstop to lead off the frame.
Rider answered with a two-run fifth, both earned runs charged to sophomore

Mark Williams started the game on the hill for the Blue and Gold, throwing three scoreless innings to open up the ballgame.
The Explorer bullpen proved to be up for the occasion the rest of the afternoon, with five more pitchers throwing a combined 4.2 scoreless innings. Freshman
Austin Clark worked 1.2 scoreless frames and picked up his third win of the season.
La Salle got back on the board in the seventh, taking advantage of a wild pitch, a walk, and two Rider errors. Junior George Smith, Jr. drove home sophomore

Cherry entered the game in the ninth and retired the first batter before giving up back-to-back singles. The sophomore retired the last two Broncs to wrap up the ballgame, earning his third save of the season.
The Explorers scratched out four hits in the contest while Rider tallied seven. With the victory, the Blue and Gold evened their season record at 24-24 entering the final weekend conference series at George Washington.
