La Salle Athletics Congratulates The Class Of 2013

PHILADELPHIA – Nearly 90 student-athletes participated in La Salle University's Commencement exercises on Sunday, May 19, at McCarthy Stadium. A total of 1,651 students from 26 states and 19 countries earned degrees this weekend, including 14 doctorates, 603 masters, 987 bachelors and 47 associates degrees.

Senior tennis player Sam Accardi received the award for recording the highest GPA by a student-athlete.

Congratulations to all graduates from La Salle Athletics.

Did you know?

-Seven student-athletes earned Academic and/or Scholar All-America recognition this year.

-19 were named to Academic All-Atlantic 10 teams, while five were honored on the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area teams.

-One was named Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Performer of the Year.

-Five more student-athletes received Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District honors.

-The La Salle women's volleyball team posted the top GPA by a women's team while the men's tennis and baseball teams had the highest GPA by a men's team during the fall semester.

-La Salle student-athletes also had higher GPAs than the student body as a whole.

-The Explorers graduation success rate (GSR) is higher than the Division I national average.

- 131 student-athletes earned Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll status in the fall for attaining at least a 3.5 GPA.
