PHILADELPHIA - Six La Salle student-athletes received departmental academic awards during commencement weekend on May 18-19. The six awards are the most by student-athletes in recent memory.

Biology: Janel Paukovits (Field Hockey)

Economics: Michael Bowden (Cross Country)

Integrated Science, Business and Technology: Blase Szyszko (Swimming and Diving)

Nutrition: Sam Accardi (Men's Tennis)

Speech Language Hearing: Elli Vamvakitis (Women's Tennis)

Nursing: Gabrielle Pakhtigian (Women's Soccer)

In addition, Elizabeth Reed of the La Salle softball team said the opening prayer at graduation.
