GREENSBORO, N.C. - Alfredo Santana will compete in the 5000m run at the NCAA Preliminaries on Saturday evening at 8:45 p.m. Santana will face-off against some of the top competitors on the east coast in the event and will look to become the first Explorer to qualify for the NCAA Final Round Championships since Sean Quigley did so in the 5000m and 10,000m in 2008.

The Nueva Esperanza product ran a career-best 14:00.93 on April 7 at the Colonial Relays. Santana was named Performer of the Meet at both the A-10 Indoor & Outdoor Championships, winning the 3,000m and 5000m indoors and the 5000m and 10,000m outdoors.
