GREENSBORO, N.C. - Alfredo Santana's terrific outdoor season came to an end on Saturday evening at the NCAA Preliminaries, where he placed 13th (46-runner field) in the 5000m run. Santana crossed the finish line at 14:06.46, missing NCAA Final Round qualification by only one place.

UNC Greensboro's Paul Chelimo paced the field with a 13:49.94 followed by a 14:05.25 from Northeastern's Eric Jenkins. Virginia's Mark Amirault finished third at 14:00.54.
