NEWARK, Del. - The La Salle baseball team squandered a seven inning, one-run performance from starting pitcher
Shawn O'Neill, dropping the second game in the weekend set, 2-0, to the Blue Hens on Saturday afternoon. The Explorers outhit the home team 6-5 but failed to push a run across in the ballgame. O'Neill took the loss, dipping to 4-5 on the season while Delaware's Matt Soren improved to 4-3 on the year with his eight inning shutout performance.
The Blue Hens (30-16) scored one in the fourth and added an unearned fun in the fifth for a 2-0 lead that would stand the rest of the afternoon. La Salle (20-23) stranded two baserunners in the second and two in the sixth in what proved to be its best scoring opportunities.

The Explorers and Blue Hens will duke it out again on Sunday afternoon at Hank DeVincent Field. Senior day festivities are set to begin at 12:45 p.m. with first pitch slated for 1 p.m.
