PHILADELPHIA – Pat Christensen has added another item to his trophy case after being named a Rawlings/ABCA All Region first-team honoree. In voting conducted by the head coaches in the East Region, Christensen was the lone reliever named to the first team after notching a 6-1 record with 11 saves on the season.

The La Jolla, Calif. native posted a 2.52 ERA with 58 strikeouts in 50.0 innings this season and earned a win or save in 17 of the Explorers' 24 victories. A first-team all-Atlantic 10 choice, Christensen registered an A-10 best 0.94 ERA in league play.

A 2011 East all-region choice, Christensen ended his career with 44 saves, good for fifth-most in NCAA Division I history.

Christensen was a 27^th round selection of the Houston Astros in the MLB First-Year Player Draft and will begin his career with the Tri-City Valley Cats, the organization's single-A affiliate in the New York-Penn League.
