PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle volleyball team has finalized its 2013 campaign, head coach Dave Stever announced today. The schedule totals 32 games, including 14 Atlantic 10 contests.
The season will once again tip off at home with the La Salle Invitational, set to begin Saturday, August 31. The Blue and Gold will open its season against Fairleigh Dickinson, Lafayette, Sacramento State, and Bucknell in the two-day tournament at Tom Gola Arena.
An away match at Howard on September 6 will precede a three-match tournament at Loyola (Md.) the weekend of September 6. La Salle is slated to square up against the host as well as Delaware and UMBC.
The following weekend, the Explorers will hike to the Palestra for the Crowne Plaza Philadelphia West Penn Invitational. Matches against Weber State and American are sandwiched around a bout with Big 5-rival Temple.
La Salle will hit the road the following weekend for an exciting three-match set at the Memphis Invitational. Arkansas-Little Rock, Memphis, and Austin Peay are on tap in the Explorer's final weekend in the non-conference.
The Explorers kick off their A-10 docket at home on September 27/28 vs. newcomer George Mason and Rhode Island. After Penn visits on September 30, the Blue and Gold will rattle off 12 consecutive conference matches to conclude the regular season.
Though seven of its last 10 games will be played on the road, La Salle will finish up at Gola Arena on November 15/16 vs. Fordham and Duquesne.
