EASTON, Pa. – Leading 2-1 for the majority of the second half, the Explorers surrendered a goal in the 88^th minute off the head of Lafayette's Ryan Dodds, tying the contest at 2-2 in what proved to be the end result.

The Leopards struck first by way of a Chuka Anyafo goal in the 35^th minute to put the home team up 1-0. Anyafo cleaned up a deflected ball off the crossbar and slipped one past senior goalkeeper John McCarthy (3 saves). The Explorers countered in the 43^rd minute when senior Jidell Roach buried a penalty kick after the Leopards were penalized on a corner attempt.

After a stagnant start to the second half, senior Jason Plumhoff broke the silence with a left-foot strike into the upper portion of the net in the 64^th minute. The lead remained in the Explorers favor until Dodds' marker at the back end of regulation time.

The game proved to be a physical one, as 10 yellow cards in all were handed out between the two sides. Each squad combined for 18 fouls.

The Explorer's home opener comes Wednesday at 7 PM at McCarthy Stadium when Loyola (Md.) comes to town for a non-conference visit.
