BROOKLYN, N.Y. – La Salle men's soccer and LIU Brooklyn (0-3-1) combined for 36 shots, but none found the back of the net on Wednesday evening at LIU Field. Senior goalkeeper John McCarthy made seven saves in the match, recording his first shutout of the season and the 24th of his career.
Seniors Jason Plumhoff and Kevin Pink led the Explorers (0-2-2) in shot attempts with four each. For the game, La Salle totaled four shots on goal, two off the foot of Plumhoff.
Upon a 0-0 score at the end of regulation, the Blue and Gold berated Blackbird goalkeeper John Connolly with six shots in the first overtime period, two of which were one net.
La Salle outshot the home team 19-17 in the contest.
The Explorers will host Saint Peter's on Saturday at 1 PM at McCarthy Stadium.
