LEWISBURG, Pa. – La Salle men's soccer surrendered two second half goals in a 2-1 loss to Bucknell on Sunday afternoon at Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium. With the loss, the Explorers fall to 0-2-1 on the year while the Bison improve to 2-2-0.

Junior Rob Friskey put the Explorers on the board in the 29th minute when he tapped in a rebound off the cross bar for his first goal of the season. Despite the Bison outshooting the visitors 8-2 in the first period, the Blue and Gold entered the half with a 1-0 edge.

Bucknell persisted in the second half and finally broke through in the 60th minute when Chris Thorsheim banged home a penalty kick following a handball in the box by Explorer sophomore Joe Farrell. The Bison struck again 13 minutes later on a Jesse Klug marker which proved to be the game winner.

Bison outshot the Explorers 19-6 in the contest and committed 11 fouls, to La Salle's 9.

Senior goalkeeper John McCarthy made seven saves in his first game back from injury.
