WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senior Tyreek Duren had 22 points and five steals but the rest of the team combined to shoot just 8-for-48 from the field as the La Salle men's basketball team suffered a 69-47 loss at George Washington on Wednesday night at the Smith Center. Duren was 7-for-13 from the field and accounted for nearly half of the team's points and field goals.

As a team, the Explorers shot 27.3% from the field and 22.7% from three-point range. Besides Duren, no La Salle player had more than two field goals.

The Colonials continued their march to a possible NCAA bid, improving to 17-3 overall and 5-1 in the Atlantic 10, one game back of first place Saint Louis. GW is also a perfect 10-0 at home this season.

Isaiah Armwood led GW with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Kevin Larsen and Maurice Creek each added 15.

La Salle (11-9, 3-3 A-10) dropped its third straight contest.

The visitors tied the game at 19-19 on a Duren lay-up with eight minutes to play before halftime before GW went on a 19-0 run over the next seven minutes and took a 38-23 lead into the locker rooms.

The Explorers cut the deficit to 12 points early in the second half but would get no closer.

La Salle returns to Gola Arena on Saturday to host Duquesne at 4 PM. The game will be televised regionally on The Comcast Network and SNY. A free video stream will be available via campusinsiders.com
