PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's soccer team fell 3-0 on the road against Villanova on Wednesday afternoon at the Higgins Complex.
The Wildcats came out strong, registering the game's first three shots, eventually finding pay dirt in the 14
th minute following a corner kick on the right side. The rebound of the corner found Willis Griffith, who sent the ball into the upper left side of the net from the center of the field.
Villanova (4-4-1) made it a 2-0 game minutes later, striking again in the 17
th minute on a goal by Dennis Aaron after touches from Max Kroschwitz and Sean Sheridan.
La Salle (3-5-1) continued to apply pressure on the Villanova's back line, forcing goalkeeper Will Steiner to make seven saves to preserve the shutout.
Joe Farrell put three shots on goal in the contest, while
Conor Nichols landed a pair of shots on target.
The Wildcats added a final score in the 56
th minute on a goal from Hayden Harr.
The Explorers finish nonconference play on Saturday as they host LIU Brooklyn (1-7) at McCarthy Stadium at 1 p.m.
