Men's Soccer Gears Up for St. Bonaventure, Duquesne

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's soccer team continues Atlantic 10 play this weekend as they host St. Bonaventure at McCarthy Stadium on Friday night before travelling to Duquesne on Sunday afternoon.
 
Scouting the Explorers
The Blue and Gold picked up their first conference win of the season on Friday with a 1-0 road win over Saint Joseph's. Four of their five wins this season have come during shutouts.

La Salle's Joe Farrell, who netted the game-winner against Saint Joseph's, is tied for sixth in the A-10 in goals (five) and ranks 10th in the league in points per game (0.79).

Goalkeeper Mike Kirk has five shutouts on the season, and hasn't been scored upon in over 209 minutes in the net (81st minute against Fordham on 10/10).

Scouting the Bonnies

The Bonnies come to Philadelphia in search of their first A-10 win and are looking to rebound from back-to-back 1-0 home losses (George Washington and VCU) last weekend.

Five different Bonnies have scored this season though none have found pay dirt more than once. Leading shooter Kieran Toland will miss Friday's game after earning his fifth yellow card of the season against VCU.

Since the beginning of conference play, SBU senior goalkeeper Jeremy Figler leads the Atlantic 10 with 28 saves and is averaging 5.6 saves per game.

Scouting the Dukes

Duquesne is an impressive 6-1 at home this season, with their lone setback coming via a 1-0 loss to VCU on October 24.

The Dukes lead the A-10 in scoring offense (2.00), points per game (5.57) and total goals (28). Kadeem Pantophlet, a 6-foot-7 junior who lettered twice for the Dukes on the hardwood before switching to the pitch last season, leads DU with 13 points on five goals and three assists.

The Duquesne backline has been tough all season, surrendering more than two goals only once in 2014 (3-0 loss to West Virginia on October 5).
