RICHMOND, Va.- The La Salle men's soccer team will face second-seeded Saint Louis University in the opening round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament on Thursday at 5 p.m. at VCU's Sports Backers Stadium. The winner of Thursday's match plays the winner of No. 3 VCU and No. 6 Fordham on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Scouting the Explorers (7-8-3, 3-3-2 A-10)
The Explorers handled Dayton 1-0 on Friday and battled to a 1-1 draw with George Mason on Sunday to earn a spot in their fifth consecutive Atlantic 10 tournament.

Joe Farrell, who paced the Explorers in goals (six), assists (four), and points (16) this season, was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team on Wednesday. Matt Robinson and Tom Baker were named to the All-Academic Team.

Robinson also garnered Player of the Week honors from the Philadelphia Soccer Six after scoring his fourth goal of the season to propel La Salle to the win over Dayton. The sophomore midfielder is second on the club in points (10) with four goals and a pair of assists.

Goalkeeper Mike Kirk also received recognition from the Soccer Six, earning the Defender of the Week nod for recording his sixth shutout of the year on Friday and limiting George Mason to one goal in 110 minutes in the net on Sunday.

Scouting the Billikens (12-3-2, 5-1-2 A-10)
The Billikens ended the regular season with a 1-0 road victory over VCU on Friday, and have won four of their last five dating back to a 1-0 win over Duquesne on October 17.

Saint Louis was well represented on this year's All-Conference teams as three Billikens were named Player of the Year – senior Robert Kristo (Offensive), junior David Graydon (Midfielder) and senior Anthony Manning (Defensive).

Senior midfielder Raymond Lee and junior defender Tyler David were named to the Second Team while redshirt freshman defender Max Karcher and freshman goalkeeper Sascha Otte were named to the All-Rookie team.

SLU and La Salle did not meet in the regular season this year but have squared off in the last two conference tournaments. In 2012, SLU beat the Explorers 3-1 en route to the tournament title before defeating La Salle 2-1 in Dayton last November.
