LEWISBURG, Pa. – The La Salle men's swimming and diving team placed third of six teams with 1,124.5 points in the three-day Bucknell Invitational this weekend at Kinney Natatorium.
Freshman
Fabian Bergman set a school record in Sunday's 200-yard backstroke final, reaching the wall in 1:46.50 to win the heat.
Fellow rookie
Jakub Bartosiewicz won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:49.12.
The Explorers had the top two finishers in the 200-yard breaststroke as
Dimitrije Mladenovic won the event (2:00.19) and
Johan Roth (2:00.36) took second.
Between the final two days of the event, the La Salle men won the 100 and 200-yard finals for each stroke with the exception of freestyle. Bartosiewicz won Saturday's 100-yard butterfly final (49.64), Mladenovic won Saturday's 100-yard breaststroke final (55.83) and Bergman paced the 100-yard backstroke (48.71).
Yale University won the Invitational with 1,762 points followed by Bucknell in second (1,147).
The Explorers return to action at the USA Nationals from December 3-6.
