La Salle | St. Francis Brooklyn

Last Time Out
The La Salle men's basketball team scored 11 unanswered points to start the game and never trailed on its way to a 59-50 victory over Saint Peter's on Saturday. Jordan Price had a career-high 21 points in the contest, including a perfect 9-for-9 effort from the free-throw line. Jerrell Wright logged 15 minutes of action off the bench, providing a double-double thanks to 10 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Amar Stukes also provided scoring off of the bench with 11 points on the afternoon.

All-Time Series
This will be the tenth all-time matchup between the two schools, but the first since 1948.  La Salle holds a 7-2 advantage over St. Francis Brooklyn after taking a 59-50 win in Convention Hall on February 23, 1948.

Scouting the Explorers
Redshirt sophomore Jordan Price has hit the ground running in his first season playing for the Explorers. The transfer from Auburn leads the team with 15.7 points per game, which ranks 9th in the Atlantic 10 this season.
 
La Salle has turned up the pressure defensively on the young season. The Explorers rank 14th in the country in opponent field goal percentage (32.1) and 13th in the nation in opponent three-point field goal percentage (20.5). No opponent has scored more than 60 points and La Salle is limiting opponents to an average of 53.3 points per game.  Offensively, the Explorers rank 16th in the nation after committing only 9.7 turnovers per game this year.
 
Jerrell Wright averaged 13.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in 2013-14 to earn a Second Team All-Philadelphia Big 5 nod as a junior. This season, Wright ranks third in the conference with 10.0 rebounds per game and third on the Explorers with 7.3 points per game.
 
Redshirt freshman Amar Stukes has provided a boost off the bench, averaging 9.3 points per game. The La Salle College High School product also leads the team by shooting 47.8 from the field.

Scouting the Terriers
St. Francis Brooklyn has started the season on a three-game slide after dropping games to Georgetown, Army, and Rutgers. The Terriers have utilized an experienced starting lineup in their first three games, starting two juniors and three seniors. St. Francis went 18-14 last season including a 9-7 mark in the NEC. St. Francis was predicted to finish first in the NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
 
Senior Bret Jones and junior Antonio Jenifer each average 11.3 points per game to lead the Terriers. Jones has scored with volume, leading the team with 35 shot attempts on the year while shooting 37.1 percent from the field. Jones also leads the team with 16 assists..
 
Preseason First Team All-NEC selection Jalen Cannon also returns for St. Francis after averaging 14.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game in 2013-2014.

The Explorers head to Brooklyn, N.Y. for the Barclays Center Classic starting Friday evening. La Salle opens the event against #7 Virginia on Friday at 9:30 pm and will face either Rutgers or Vanderbilt on Saturday. Both games will be televised nationally on NBC Sports Network.
