All-Time Series
La Salle and Manhattan have a long history as former conference mates in the MAAC, although the two squads renewed that rivalry last season for the first time since 1992. The Explorers own an 18-7 edge over the Jaspers.

Last Time Out vs. the Jaspers
The Explorers used a 19-4 run in the second half to overcome an eight-point deficit en route to a 72-62 win in Riverdale last season. Alicia Cropper and Khristin Lee scored 17 each, and Micahya Owens added 12. Graduated senior Monica Roeder led the Jaspers with 18 points, and Ashley Stec chipped in 14.

Scouting the Explorers
The Explorers are fresh off of their first win of the season, a 65-64 last-second nailbiter against Howard in the home opener on Saturday. Micahya Owens drained a team-best 21 points, all in the first half and capped by a half-court shot at the halftime buzzer. Ebony Wells recorded her first career double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Amy Griffin added 11 points, including the game-winning bucket with 8.5 seconds on the clock.

Cropper, who played in the season opener at Temple, is listed as day-to-day. She drained 16 points against the Owls, and is the team's leading returning scorer. The 2013-14 A-10 Second Team pick averaged 14.7 ppg last season.

Owens is averaging 13.7 ppg and 3.7 rpg through three games, which includes her 21-point output against Howard and 18 at Temple. Wells is averaging 9.0 ppg and 8.3 rpg, but has averaged 10.0 ppg and 10.5 rpg in the last two games. Griffin, who has seen time in all three games including her first career start, is chipping in 8.0 ppg.

Jasmine Alston is averaging 5.0 assists and nearly three steals per game in the first handful of games, and Siobhan Beslow has added a team-high six blocks in the first three.

As a team, the Explorers are scoring 55.3 ppg and shooting 33.3 percent from the field.

Scouting the Jaspers
Manhattan looks to bounce back from an 81-49 loss at Army this weekend, as the Jaspers have started the season 1-2. They own a 66-60 win over Holy Cross, thanks to a 23-point/10-rebound double-double by Shayna Ericksen.

Ericksen, a Preseason All-MAAC Third Team pick, is leading the Jaspers in scoring and rebounding, scoring 11.0 ppg and pulling down 8.7 boards per game. She is matched in scoring by Nyasha Irizarry, who also averages 11.0 ppg while chipping in 3.7 rebounds. Ashley Stec rounds out the top three scorers with 7.0 ppg.

The Jaspers are scoring 56.3 ppg and shooting 38.6 percent from the field, while yielding 71.3 ppg and 41.9 percent of shots to opponents.

Manhattan was selected to finish seventh in the MAAC this season in the preseason coaches' poll, ahead of Canisius, Monmouth, Siena and Saint Peter's.
