Baseball Hosts Lehigh for Liberty Bell Classic Opener


PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle baseball team will take on Lehigh on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. as part of the Liberty Bell Classic.

  • Lehigh is 11-10 overall and swept a doubleheader against Army, 5-4 and 3-0, on Monday afternoon.
  • The Mountain Hawks are batting .288 as a team and send five hitters to the plate with .300-plus averages.
  • Tim McKay leads the club in hitting (.348), slugging percentage (.457), and on base percentage (.444).
  • Joe Abeln is batting .347 and leads the team in runs (16), hits (26), and doubles (7).
  • Lehigh's pitching staff has notched a 4.63 ERA on the year. They are limiting opponents to a .290 batting average against clip.
