Explorer Notes
  • After starting the season 3-18, La Salle has won six of its last eight.
  • In those eight games, the Explorers are batting a smoldering .331 with a .387 on base percentage and .536 slugging percentage. They have outscored opponents 57-41 in the span.
  • La Salle ranks second in the A-10 in team batting average (.285). Four Explorers rank in the top-15 in the conference in batting average, most of any A-10 club.
  • The Explorers set three single-game A-10 highs in its 18-6 win over Delaware on Tuesday. They tallied 43 total bases, four homers, and three triples.
  • La Salle's 18 run output on Tuesday is the most in a game since February 28, 2009 in a 21-6 defeat of Morehead State. Its 20 hits on the day was the most since April 20, 2013 against Saint Joseph's (W, 10-2).
  • George Smith Jr carries a 12-game hitting streak. He is batting .470 (24-51) in the span. He smacked two triples on Tuesday vs. Delaware, the only A-10 hitter this season to achieve the feat. His 11 total base effort is a conference best this year as well. In seven A-10 games, Smith Jr is slashing .467/500/.733. He ranks third in the A-10 in batting average (.364), third in slugging percentage (.533), and fifth in total bases (57).
  • Cameron Johnson is riding a 10-game hitting streak. He is batting .385 (15-39) in the span, including five multiple hit efforts. He hit his first homer as an Explorer on Tuesday at Delaware. He ranks 14th in the conference in batting average (.330).
  • Justin Korenblatt leads the club with 13 multiple hit games. He has recorded multiple hits in six of his last seven games, batting .382 (13-34) during the stretch. He is tied for eighth in the conference in hitting (.339).
  • Kevin Baron has reached base safely in 27 of 29 games this season. He scored a career-high five runs on Tuesday and is batting .474 (9-19) over his last four games. He is tied for eighth in the conference in hitting (.339).
  • Josh Savakinus has notched four multi-hit games over his last eight. He is La Salle's second-leading hitter in A-10 play (.385), accompanied by a .500 on base percentage and .654 slugging percentage. He ranks 10th in the conference in slugging percentage (.494).
  • Mark Williams is tied for third in the A-10 in home runs (4) and ranks fifth in slugging percentage (.520). He has hit safely in his last four games.
  • Over his last eight games, Joey Ravert is batting .385 (10-26) and has hit safely in every game in that span. He leads the club with 14 walks and is batting .375 (6-16) in A-10 play.
  • Nick Tierno hit homers in both games against Delaware earlier this week, combining to go 4-for-6 in the games.
  • La Salle's pitching staff has registered a 3.50 team ERA in seven conference games and has limited opponents to a .214 batting average against clip.
  • Friday's probable starter, Hollman, has started on the hill in four of La Salle's nine wins this year. He has given up three or fewer earned runs in all but one start this this season. He is striking out 7.43 batters per nine innings.
  • Saturday's probable starter, Ravert, leads the club in ERA (2.96). He's yet to surrender more than three earned runs in any outing this season. He is striking out 5.54 batters per nine innings and is limiting opponents to a .245 batting average against clip, best of the starting rotation.
  • Sunday's probable starter, O'Neill, has thrown a good ball of late, picking up three wins and two saves over his last five appearances. In the span, he has posted a 1.13 ERA with 11 strikeouts and six walks. He is tied for sixth in the A-10 in saves (3).
  • Adam Cherry has notched the stingiest batting average on the club, limiting opponents to a .218 batting average against clip. He is tied for second in the conference in appearances (16) and third in saves (4).
  • Tom Fazzini leads the A-10 in appearances (17).
  • Mike McLeod has worked five consecutive scoreless outings out of the pen (5.1 IP).
