Baseball Hosts Saint Louis in Final A-10 Series, Celebrates Senior Day on Saturday


PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle baseball team will conclude its regular season with a three-game Atlantic 10 series beginning on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Senior day festivities will be celebrated before Saturday's game with a pregame ceremony at 11:45 a.m.

Last Time Out
The Explorers' late comeback fell short in a 6-5 loss to Rider on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference play. Cameron Johnson was the lone Explorer to register a multi-hit effort, going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI.

Explorer Notes
  • La Salle ranks seventh in the A-10 in team batting average (.262).
  • The Explorers are 9-1 when leading after seven innings.
  • La Salle is 10-3 this year when limiting opponents to five runs or less.
  • Justin Korenblatt enters the weekend as the conference's fifth-leading hitter (.366) and is riding a five-game hitting streak. He is batting .550 (11-20) in that span. Korenblatt ranks second in the A-10 in total bases (96), third in hits (65), and is tied for the conference lead in triples (6). He leads the Explorers in multi-hit games (19) and multi-RBI games (8).
  • Kevin Baron is one of two Explorers (Korenblatt is the other) to start all 46 games.
  • Cameron Johnson is second on the club in multi-RBI games (7) and is batting .381 (16-42) over his last 10 games.
  • George Smith Jr is second on the team in batting average with RISP (.362).
  • Joey Ravert leads the team in sacrifice bunts (7).
  • Dan Callahan has notched hits in back-to-back games for the first time in his career.
  • In 5.2 innings in A-10 play, Freddy Andujar leads the team in ERA (1.59) and has fanned 8 batters. Conference opponents are batting .200 against him.
  • Adam Cherry and Tom Fazzini are tied for second in the A-10 in appearances (25). Mike McLeod ranks third (24).
  • Cherry and Shawn O'Neill have each logged five saves, tied for fourth in the A-10.

  • SLU swept Fordham last weekend and comes in riding a five-game winning streak.
  • The Billikens lead the A-10 in fielding percentage (.975) and rank third in both batting average (.271) and ERA (3.56).
  • Alec Sole leads the club in batting (.361) and ranks sixth in the conference.
  • Mike Vigliarolo leads the A-10 in total bases (103) and doubles (17). He ranks second in the league in homers (7).
  • Starting pitcher James Norwood rank fifth in the A-10 in ERA (2.26). He has struck out 61 and walked 23 in 83.2 innings.
