Box Score (PDF)BRONX, N.Y. – Fordham jumped out to a 4-1 lead over the La Salle baseball team and rode the early surge to a 6-2 win over the Blue & Gold on Friday evening at Houlihan Park.
Kevin Baron notched a 3-for-4 day out of the leadoff spot to highlight the day for the Explorers.

Shane Hollman (L, 3-3) was erratic in this one, retiring only five batters while being charged with four earned runs. He scattered two hits while walking four and striking out one before getting the hook.
The Explorers (11-29, 6-11 A-10) got on the board in the opening frame and added another in the fifth.
Mark Williams (0-2, RBI, BB) drove in his team-leading 29
th RBI of the season with a sacrifice fly in the first, plating Baron who led off the inning with a triple.
Justin Korenblatt also scored Baron on a sac fly in the fifth, the last time an Explorer touched home on the evening.
Fordham (20-23, 10-9 A-10) used a strong effort from starter Kirk Haynes Jr. (W, 3-3), who tossed seven innings of two-run ball. He struck out six and walked three while allowing six hits.
