Bernadette Stanko earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team recognition on Sunday following the conclusion of the Explorers' races in the Atlantic 10 Championship at the Occoquan Reservoir in Fairfax, Va.
The young Explorer squad fielded championships boats in the varsity four, varsity eight and second varsity eight categories. The squad finished ninth as a team with six total points. Massachusetts captured the 2014 title with 52 points, edging second place and two-time defending champion Rhode Island by two points.
The La Salle varsity eight, which includes four freshmen, finished fifth in its heat with a time of 7:58.99. The boat was coxed by
Maura Green, and rowed by Karli Libbey,
Gianna Harris-Campbell,
Catherine Goldschmidt,
Bernadette Stanko,
Amanda Schwarz,
Kirsten Kershbaumer,
Amanda Ryan and Sofia Iaconelli. UMass won the heat to move on to the finals with a time of 7:20.80, followed by George Washington, Saint Joseph's, and George Mason.
The V8 also rowed in the petite final later in the day, finishing third with a time of 8:13.73. Fordham won the petite final in 7:46.30, followed by George Mason in 7:56.79.
The second varsity eight finished fourth in its heat, topping George Mason by over 11 seconds. The 2V8 clocked an 8:05.22 to the Patriots' 8:16.50. Rhode Island won the heat in 7:29.00 to move on to the grand final, followed by Saint Joseph's, George Washington, La Salle and Mason. The 2V8 was coxed by

Tayler Horne, Maddie Haaga,
Emily Loughlin, Katie Van Stone,
Brooke Spence,
Maura McKenna and
Emma Merrick.
The squad moved on to the petite final, finishing third with a time of 8:49.32. George Mason won the petite final in 8:14.30 and Dayton was second in 8:15.69.
The varsity four finished fifth in its heat with a 9:46.39. UMass won the heat in 8:20.50, followed by Duquesne, George Mason and Dayton. The V4 was coxed by Katie Reyes, and rowed by Meredith Lapan,
Savannah Fader,
Erika Gonzalez and
Maria Urban.
The Explorers finished third in the V4 petite final with a time of 9:50.97. St. Joe's won the petite final with a 9:05.50 and Dayton was second in 9:39.51.
The Explorers wrap up the spring season next weekend when they compete in the Dad Vail Regatta starting Friday.
