PHILADELPHIA-
Chris Irvin, who served the previous two years as the Athletics Ticket Coordinator here at La Salle University, has been announced as the new Athletic Business Manager.
"I would like to thank
Chris Kane,
John Lyons, and
Dr. Tom Brennan for this wonderful opportunity," Irvin said. "I am extremely excited to continue working within La Salle's athletic department while embracing my new role as Athletic Business Manager."
Â
Irvin brings a diverse background to his new role, having various experiences in many fields through athletics. Irvin began at La Salle in 2012 as the athletics ticket coordinator, planning, organizing, and managing ticket sales for home events and managed the daily operations of the ticket office. He traveled to coordinate ticket operations during the men's basketball squad's Sweet 16 run in 2013, while helping increase the season ticket holder count by over 50 percent following the 2012-13 season. Irvin has also assisted with game day promotions for men's and women's basketball and oversaw a staff of game-day student ticket employees.
Â
Irvin also served as a game-day ticket representative at Penn prior to La Salle and has served internships with Comcast Spectacor and Widener University. His duties at Penn included managing box office ticket sales for women's basketball, and developing ticket sales strategies for men's and women's basketball, wrestling and the Penn Relays. While at Comcast Spectacor, he assisted the marketing department with duties with both the Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Wings. He also assisted in ticket sales for the Wings, and got hands-on marketing experience in developing a marketing plan for the event "Walking With Dinosaurs." His internship at Widener included experience in game-day management, setup and ticket sales while covering women's track on the sports information side. He also spent several months as an Assistant Operations Manager with LA Fitness.
Â
Irvin received his bachelors degree in business administration from Widener in 2011 and is currently pursuing his master's in business administration at La Salle.
