Field Hockey's Three-Game Win Streak Snapped At Lock Haven, 2-1

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Colleen Kempf scored her first goal of the season to put La Salle up 1-0 in the first half, but Lock Haven's potent offense woke up in the second half as the Lady Eagles took a 2-1 decision at Charlotte E. Smith Field on Friday afternoon.

The loss drops the Explorers to 3-4 overall, evening up their Atlantic 10 record at 1-1. Lock Haven improves to 7-2 overall, 2-0 in A-10 play.

The Explorers kept the game tight despite Lock Haven dominating across the board. Kempf opened scoring in the 26th minute when she deflected in a hit taken by Kendall Kreider from outside the circle, and the squad held that 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

Rachel Hartman was solid in goal, recording 10 saves on the day to help the Explorers fend off a 22-3 Lock Haven shot advantage. Rookie Eileen Dzwill recorded her first defensive save as well.

Lock Haven also held a 12-1 penalty corner advantage. Elaina White earned the win in goal, recording one save.
