BRONX, N.Y.-The La Salle women's swimming and diving team fell in a tri-meet with Fordham (218-81) and Richmond (209-90) at the Messmore Aquatic Center on Saturday afternoon.
"It was great to get back competing, we have to take advantage of the competition opportunities left to prepare for peak performance at the A10 Championships," said associate head coach
Jamie Platt. "We had the opportunity to compete against some of the stronger teams from the A-10 in Richmond and Fordham."
Emma Smith placed 2
nd in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:27.55, trailing Fordham's Megan Zarriello by less than four seconds.
Kelly Quinn placed 3
rd in both diving events on the day, scoring 220.90 on the 1-meter diving board and 230.25 on the 3-meter board.
Sydney Szopo took 4
th (216.65) on the 1-meter board and
Paige Frishkorn grabbed 5
th (207.30).
The women's swimming and diving team returns home this week as they host Loyola in Kirk Pool on Thursday at 5 p.m.
