PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's basketball team wraps up its two-game homestand on Saturday afternoon as it hosts the George Washington Colonials for a 12:30 tip in Tom Gola Arena. The game will be broadcast nationally on NBC Sports Network.

George WashingtonLast Time OutLa Salle battled back from a 10-point deficit in the first half but it wasn't enough as Massachusetts grabbed a 71-65 win over the Explorers on Wednesday evening at Tom Gola Arena. The game saw seven lead changes and the scored tied a total of ten times.
All-Time SeriesLa Salle has won five of the last six matchups, but George Washington leads the all-time series 21-15 after the teams split a pair of matchups last January. The Explorers took a 76-72 win in Tom Gola Arena on January 9 before the Colonials returned the favor with a 69-47 win in the Smith Center on January 29. La Salle is 5-1 against George Washington in Philadelphia going back to 2009 with the sole defeat being a two point loss in February of 2011.
Scouting the ExplorersLa Salle is in search of its first conference win after tough losses to George Mason and UMass to start A-10 play.
Cleon Roberts has started the past six games for the Explorers, and has responded by scoring in double figures in each of the last four games.
Amar Stukes scored a season-high 13 points against UMass on Wednesday in his first career start, finishing 6-for-7 from the floor with an assist and steal while not turning the ball over in 30 minutes of action.
Defense continues to be the key to success for La Salle this season. The Explorers are limiting opponents to an average of 58.6 points per game and a 37.1 field goal percentage in their eight wins compared to 69.0 ppg and a 50.3 field goal percentage in seven losses this season.
Scouting the ColonialsGeorge Washington has won six straight games, and hasn't lost since a 64-51 setback to Penn State on December 14. The streak includes a 60-54 victory over No. 11 Wichita State for the Diamond Head Classic title in Honolulu and wins over Saint Joseph's and Saint Louis to begin A-10 play.
The Colonials are second in the league in scoring defense, allowing only 58.9 points per game this season. GW is also third in the league in scoring margin, outscoring opponents by an average of 11.2 points per game.
GW has three scorers averaging in double figures, led by Patricio Garino's 13.5 points per game. Kethan Savage adds 12.7 ppg and Kevin Larsen chips in 11.8 ppg while pulling down a team-high 7.2 rebounds per game.
