DAYTON, Ohio – The La Salle men's soccer team fell to the Dayton Flyers 5-0 on Saturday night at Baujan Field.
Amass Amankona and Alex Amankwaah powered the Flyers attack as the duo combined to score Dayton's first four goals. Amankona scored three goals while Amankwaah recorded a goal of his own to go with three assists.
The Explorers held the Flyers off the board for the majority of the opening half until Amankona struck in the 36th minute. The redshirt senior sent the ball into the lower left corner past La Salle keeper

Amankona made it 2-0 just minutes later, redirecting a corner kick into the box from Amankwaah for the goal in the 39th minute.
Dayton wasted little time in the second half, making it 3-0 on a direct corner by Amankwaah in the 52nd minute. Amankona scored his third goal with a header to the top right corner of the net on a cross from Amankwaah in the 62nd minute.
Nick Hagenkord delivered UD's final goal in the 87th minute, finding the back of the net on a cross from James Haupt.
La Salle put four shots on goal in the game but couldn't get by Dayton keeper Justin Saliba.
The Explorers return to the pitch on Wednesday at 7 PM as they visit the Massachusetts Minutemen at Rudd Field.
