Dzwill's Late Goal Gives Field Hockey A 3-2 Win At Bryant

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - La Salle sophomore Eileen Dzwill scored the game-winner with just over four minutes to play to give the Explorers a 3-2 victory at Bryant on Sunday at the Bryant Turf Complex. The Blue and Gold return home next weekend for its final two regular season games of the year, which includes an important A-10 matchup with Saint Francis on Friday and Senior Day vs. Columbia on Sunday.

With the score tied 2-2, La Salle was granted a penalty corner in the 66th minute. Freshman Megan Kida passed to Dzwill, who scored the go-ahead goal. Bryant had three corners in the final three minutes, but the Explorers defense was able to keep the one-goal lead.

Freshman Mackenzie Karcher and sophomore Kendall Kreider also scored goals for La Salle. For Kreider, it was her team-leading fifth goal of the fall.

Karcher's opened the scoring in the 21st minute and came off a rebound. Bryant tied the score on the first of Victoria Danby's two goals on the afternoon a minute later before Kreider took a pass from senior Jenica Miller after a corner to give the Explorers a 2-1 lead in the 32nd minute.

For Miller, it was her team-best eighth assist of the season. It is the sixth most assists in a single season by an Explorer in program history.

Danby tied the score in the 51st minute to set the stage for Dzwill's heroics.

Junior Rachel Hartman made four saves for La Salle (8-8) while Bryant's Marissa Elizardo had six stops.

Bryant falls to 3-14 this season.

La Salle held a slim 19-18 advantage in shots while Bryant had a 8-7 lead in corners.
