PHILADELPHIA- The La Salle women's volleyball team fell, 3-0 (14-25, 21-25, 12-25), to Duquesne on Friday night at Tom Gola Arena.
 
Freshman Jensen Sharrits led the team with 12 digs, while adding two service aces on the evening. Sophomore Bryanna Davis, freshman Madison Kuch and junior Ashley Felton tied for a team-high with six kills apiece.
 
The visitors jumped out to an 11-4 lead in set one and didn't look back on their way to a 25-14 set win. Davis added four of her six kills of the night in the first frame.
 
La Salle (6-21, 0-10 A-10) response and was able to keep things tight in set two, including have the score tied at 21-21 late in the set, but ultimately couldn't overcome the Dukes who scored the final four points in the frame. Freshman Taylor Hite had all three of her kills on the evening during the second frame to go with nine assists in the set.
 
Duquesne (12-12, 6-4 A-10) closed out the match in set three with a 25-12 set win. Kuch and Felton both had multiple kills in the set.
 
Hite finished with 22 assists on the night. Sophomore Rachel Carr added four blocks on the evening which ties for her second highest total of the season.
 
The Explorers return to action next weekend as they welcome Davidson and VCU to Tom Gola Arena on Friday and Sunday respectively. The Sunday match La Salle will honor the programs four seniors prior to the 1 p.m. match.
