Scouting the ExplorersLa Salle is looking to rebound from a loss to Big 5 rival Temple in its home opener on Wednesday night.
Junior
Micahya Owens had a team-high 15 points against Temple, and also led the Explorers in scoring with 20 points against Fairfield. Owens is sixth in the Atlantic 10 with 17.5 points per game through two games.
Junior
Jasmine Alston, a 5'9" guard, has led the team in rebounds in both games this season, pulling down 10 and eight rebounds against Fairfield and Temple, respectively. Alston also leads the team with 5.0 assists per game this season, which is tied for sixth in the A-10.
Freshman
Adreana Miller has scored in double figures in her first two collegiate games, dropping 16 in her debut at Fairfield and adding 10 against the Owls.
La Salle leads the Atlantic 10 in free throw percentage (81.3), hitting 26-of-32 attempts through two games. Sophomore
Amy Griffin is 8-for-9 from the line while Owens is 8-for-10.
Scouting the ColonialsRobert Morris pulled away from Monmouth over the final 15 minutes of play to secure a 60-47 victory on the road on Thursday night.
Nine different Colonials found the scoring column against the Hawks, with senior Ashley Ravelli led all scorers with a season-high 16 points. The guard was an efficient 6-for-11 from the field and 3-for-6 from three-point range.
With the 16-point effort from Ravelli (11.0 points per game), the Colonials now have four scorers averaging in double figures. Anna Niki Stamolamprou leads RMU with 15.7 ppg and is coming off her second career double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) on Thursday night.
Rebeca Navarro had 10 points against Monmouth and is an impressive 7-for-11 from long range this season while averaging 13.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Center Mikalah Mulrain averages 12.0 points in 19.7 minutes per game.
Robert Morris leads the Northeast Conference in scoring offense this season with 85.7 points per game. However, it's worth noting that the Colonials put up 124 points in a win over Division II West Virginia Wesleyan in the season opener.
