PHILADELPHIA- The La Salle volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (20-25, 22-25, 15-25) decision to VCU on Sunday at Tom Gola Arena. The Explorers honored the program's four seniors prior to the match with senior day festivities.

Bryanna Davis added a team-high 11 kills on the day while freshman
Jensen Sharrits tied for a match-high with 11 digs on the day.

VCU (13-14, 7-5 A-10) exploded out of the gates, taking a 12-4 lead over the Explorers in the first set. La Salle battled back and cut the deficit to just two at 22-20 following a Davis kill, but it wasn't enough as VCU scored three straight points to finish off the set. Davis had six kills in the frame while hitting an effective .625. Senior
Michelle Healy had one of her two aces on the day in the set.

Set two again saw the visitors open up leads midway through the stretch, stretching the lead up to four points at various times, only for the Explorers (6-23, 0-12 A-10) to tighten the gap late in the set. However, it wasn't enough as VCU took the frame 25-22. Davis, junior
Ashley Felton and senior
Kelly Perillo all had three kills in the frame. Felton hit an effective .429 in the set.

The Rams were able to close out the match in set three with a 25-15 set win. Davis, Felton, Perillo, and freshman
Taylor Hite all had two kills in the set.

La Salle closes out the season next weekend as they hit the road to face George Mason and George Washington.Â
