Scouting the Explorers
La Salle is looking to rebound from losses to Milwaukee and Miami in the Miami Thanksgiving Classic over the weekend.

Micahya Owens dropped a season-high 23 points against the Hurricanes on Sunday, just one point shy of her career-high, after a 9-for-17 performance from the field. The junior is leading the team in scoring with 14.7 points per game, and also averages 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

Junior guard Jasmine Alston leads the team in both rebounds and assists, pulling down 6.5 rebounds and dishing out 5.2 assists per game. Alston tied her career high with nine dimes at Miami on Sunday and currently stands third in the Atlantic 10 in assists.

Freshman Adreana Miller has proven herself as a scoring threat in the early going, scoring in double figures three times and leading the team in three-point field goals with 10. The Somerset, N.J. native is averaging 10.2 points per game this season.

Sophomore Ashanti Freeland had a career-high 14 points at Miami, including 10 points in the 4th quarter, going 7-for-12 from the floor and grabbing four rebounds. Freeland is averaging 5.3 points and 5.0 rebound per game this season.

Scouting the Bison
Howard is coming off losses to Georgia State and Mercer in the Georgia State Thanksgiving Classic, and are still in search of their first win this season. The Bison have played at home only once this season, an 89-72 loss to LIU Brooklyn on November 22.

Howard's Victoria Gonzales is leading the MEAC in scoring and rebounding with 19.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. The senior has scored in double figures in all seven games and poured in 20-plus four times, including 21 points against No. 24 Northwestern (Nov. 15).

Classmate Sydni Johnson is also on the MEAC leaderboard in scoring and rebounding, sitting in fifth with 13.4 point per game and 18th with 5.9 rebounds per game. The junior has put double digits in the scoring column in her last four games, including a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double at Duquesne on last Tuesday.

The Bison are second in the MEAC in free throw percentage, hitting at a 70.8 percent clip (85-for-120) from the foul line.
