PHILADELPHIA- The La Salle men's swimming and diving team has sent six swimmers to the 2015 AT&T Winter National Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way Washington which kicked off on Friday morning.
Five swimmers will get things started for the Explorers on Friday morning during a trio of events. Junior
Cameron Fadley kicks things off in the 200 IM field of 83. Fadley has a seed time of 1:49.23 in the event.Â
Fadley returns and is joined by sophomore Jakub Bartosiewciz in the 92 man 100 butterfly event. The sophomore's fastest time on the season in the event was a 49.45 swam at the Bucknell Invitational.
The 100 breaststroke prelims will feature a pair of La Salle swimmers as senior
Johan Roth and sophomore
Dimitrije Mladenovic take to the pool. The event has 86 swimmers entered for the preliminary round. Roth owns the fastest time on the team this season with a 55.94 swam at the Bucknell Invitational while Mladenovic was close behind with a 56.50 at the same meet.
Sophomore
Fabian Bergman closes out the Friday morning prelims for La Salle in the 100 backstroke event. Bergman will go up against 96 swimmers in the event. The Sweden national owns a fast time of 49.68 swam at the Bucknell Invitational in the event.
The final Explorer to compete at Winter Nationals is junior
Mattias Glenesk who will take part in the 1500 freestyle race where he will go up against a field of 56 swimmers.
Roth and Mladenovic return on Saturday in the 200 meter breaststroke field of 80 swimmers. Roth swam a 2:00.74 at the Bucknell Invitational while Mladenovic's fast time of the season is a 2:09.26 at the A-10 Quad Meet.
Bergman also returns for a second event on Saturday swimming in the 200 backstroke field of 67. Bergman owns a fast time of 1:48.81 swam at the Bucknell Invitational in the event.Â
