Live VideoLive StatsPHILADELPHIA- The La Salle swimming and diving program returns to action for their final meet prior to the end of the semester as they head to Ithaca, N.Y. for the Ithaca College Bomber Invite.
The Explorers will go up against ten other colleges during the three day meet while competing in 20 different events for both the men and women.
The women enter the meet owning may top times amongst those they will be competing against. The 400 freestyle relay, 800 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay all have the top times amongst the teams they will be going up against. The 200 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay teams own the second fastest times respectively.
Sophomore
Emma Smith will compete in a number of events and owns the fastest time of those entered into the 400 IM thanks to a 4:26.51 she swam at the Bucknell Invite.
Freshman
Olivia DiStefano and junior
Kaitlyn Hay own the second and third best times in the 50 freestyle field. DiStefano swam a 23.72 at the Bucknell Invite which is the best on the team this season.
Junior Eva Marie Østerhus and Hay own the top two times of those entered in the 200 freestyle race. Østerhus swam a 1:57.01time at Drexel earlier this season.
On the men's side freshman
Aleksandar Nikolic owns may of the top times amongst those competing in freestyle events. He has the top time of those entered in the 200 freestyle race (1:42.20, Bucknell Invitational), second fastest time in the 100 freestyle (46.69, vs. Villanova), and third fastest in the 500 freestyle (4:46.51 at the A-10 Quad Meet).
Junior
Strahinja Stankovic is one of the top swimmers in the field for the breaststroke and butterfly events. He has the top time of those entered in the 200 breaststroke (2:04.01 at the Bucknell Invitational) and the second best time of those entered in the 100 butterfly (50.20 at the Bucknell Invitational).
The Explorers return to the pool as they host Fordham and Richmond on January 23 at Kirk Pool.
