GENEVA, Ohio- Emma Smith set a new school record while earning the silver medal in the 500-yard freestyle to help the La Salle women's swimming and diving team collect 64Â points on day two at the Atlantic 10 Championships. The Explorers now have 142 total points and sit in 6
th place heading into Friday's events.
Smith touched the wall in a season-best 4:50.92 to set the new school record, earning the silver and 17 points for the Explorers while surpassing
Colleen Larkin's record of 4:53.54 from 2013. Larkin also turned in her fastest time this season (4:58.20), earning six points with an 11
th place finish.
Amina Wilson brought in 15 points with a 4
th place finish in the 50-yard freestyle after also posting a season-best time (23.32). Kate Hay earned three points for La Salle, finishing in 23.82 to place 14
th.

The Explorers locked up 23 team points by finishing tied for 7
th in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team, made up of Wilson, Kate Hay,
Sarah Finn and
Tanawan Sukonthapanich clocked a time of 1:34.57.
Friday's preliminaries kick off at 10 a.m. with the 400-yard individual medley.
