Last Time OutThe Explorers took two of three from the Charleston Southern at CSU Ballpark last weekend. The Explorers also played the No. 1 Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday morning, falling 8-3 before resuming their series with CSU.
Scouting the Explorers-La Salle's
Cameron Johnson was named both Atlantic 10 and Big 5 Player of the Week after going 9-for-20 (.450) with eight RBI's over four games last week. The Bowling Green, Ky. native hit safely in all four games, including a 4-for-5 performance with four RBI's in Saturday's win over Charleston Southern. Johnson also knocked three doubles on his way to a .600 slugging percentage.

th in the NCAA in RBI's (12) while
Josh Savakinus is tied for 11
th in the country with five doubles through eight games.

Ryan Welling had a strong weekend at the plate despite catching 40 innings, going 8-for-19 (.421) with a homer and three RBI's. The redshirt senior hit safely in all four games, including a game-tying homer in the 8
th of Sunday's 15-inning win.

Joey Ravert has been solid on the mound for the Explorers, earning a win in both series' to start the season. The junior is 2-0 with .90 ERA and seven strikeouts.

Mark Williams earned the win in Sunday's 15-inning game by throwing three no-hit innings after playing the first 12 innings at first base.

Adam Cherry earned the save in Saturday's win, marking the 10th of his career. The redshirt senior is now just one shy of tying Chris Seiler and Jeff La Porta for fourth place on the all-time list.
Scouting the Bisons-After sweeping a three-game series from Butler to open the season, Lipscomb has lost back-to-back games. The Bisons fell to Tennessee 6-0 on Friday and are coming off a 5-2 setback to Austin Peay State on Wednesday.
-Lipscomb has two players batting over .400 through five games this season in Jonathan Allison (.444) and Adam Lee (.438). Allison is 8-for-18 with three extra base hits while Lee is 7-for-16 and leads the team in runs scored (seven).
-Grant Massey has a 14-game hitting streak intact after going 1-for-4 on Wednesday and has now reached base in 20 straight games. The senior also leads the team in RBI's with six.
-Ian Martinez-McGraw (1-0) hasn't allowed an earned run through 12 innings on the mound this season, including six scoreless frames against Tennessee last week.
