DAVIDSON, N.C. – The La Salle baseball team couldn't hold onto a one-run lead as they fell to the Davidson Wildcats 2-1 in walk-off fashion on Sunday afternoon at Wilson Field.
Davidson's Tyler Agard singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 9
th with the bases loaded and no outs against La Salle righty
Adam Cherry. The winning run reached on a La Salle fielding error with
Tom Fazzini (L, 0-2) on the mound, who then issued a walk before being pulled in favor of Cherry.
Agard also tied the game at 1-1 in the 7
th, singling up the middle against Fazzini to score Nathan Becker from second base. Becker reached on a one-out walk issued by
Greg Paprocki.
Collin McGowan's RBI single to center in the 2
nd had given the Explorers a 1-0 lead as La Salle starter
Jordan Meyer hung six scoreless frames on the Wildcats. The righty allowed just one hit while striking out three.
La Salle visits Delaware on Tuesday afternoon to open the 2015 Liberty Bell Classic.
