Justin Guerre has been named Atlantic 10 Men's Track and Field Rookie of the Week and the ECAC Division 1 South Rookie of the Week. Guerre earned the nod after finishing in the top two in two events at the Philadelphia College Classic this past weekend.

The Valley Street, N.Y. native won the 100m thanks to a time of 11.04 which over 10 competitors in the event. He returned to action later in the day running a PR of 22.01 in the 200m which took second place in the event. He bested his previous fastest time in the event by 1.5 seconds.
"Justin is coming off of a great freshman indoor track campaign," stated head coach
Tom Peterson. "He has kept the ball rolling into outdoor track. This is a well deserved honor."
The freshman is coming off an indoor season that saw him make the finals in the 60 meter sprint at the Yale Giegengack Invitational and the Patriot Games while advancing to the semifinal round of the 60m at the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Guerre and the rest of the Explorers will return to action next weekend as they head to New York to compete in the Stony Brook Invitational on Saturday.Â
