PHILADELPHIA- The La Salle men's 4x800 meter relay team finished in second place out of 23 schools in the college men's 4x800 meter relay sections thanks to a 7:34.01 time.

The Explorers finished second to New Hampshire who bested the Explorers by .27 seconds.

Sophomore Stephen Lewandowki led things off with a 1:55.06 first leg. Junior
Chris Trimble took the baton next and ran a 1:53.40 leg. Senior
Nick Ross ran the fastest leg for the Explorers thanks to his third leg of 1:52.38 before sophomore
Chris Sanders took the anchor leg and ran a 1:53.18 to finish off the relay. The Explores bested city rival St. Joseph's by .02 seconds.

The women's 4x800 meter relay team also turned in a top 10 performance thanks to an 8:55.13 time. Freshman
Ifetayo Tyler started off the relay and ran a 2:16.28 for the Explorers. Senior
Cayleigh Solano took the baton next and ran a 2:11.89 leg. Junior
Kate Conville took over from there turning in a 2:16.17 time on her third leg before junior
Shannon Dwyer brought it home with an anchor leg of 2:10.80.

La Salle was just 5.93 seconds off of the pace set by the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Shannon Dwyer's anchor leg was the sixth fastest leg overall by any runner in the event.Â
