PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle baseball team hits the road this weekend for a three-game series against Big 5 rival Saint Joseph's at Smithson Field this weekend.

Josh Savakinus was named Atlantic 10 and Big 5 Player of the Week after driving in 10 runs in four games last week as the Explorers went 3-1. The senior went 5-for-5 with two homers, two doubles and eight RBI's in Saturday's 13-5 win over the Spiders
-La Salle is 10-13 on the road this season
-The Explorers lead the A-10 in doubles (102), runs (298) and runs batted in (278) this season
-La Salle has four everyday players hitting over .300:
Ryan Welling (.349),
Cameron Johnson (.330),
Mark Williams (.313), and
Joey Ravert (.308)
-Savakinus (2
nd) and Johnson (5
th) are both in the top five in the A-10 in RBI's with 43 and 40, respectively
-Savakinus leads the league in doubles (20), and needs just three to the tie the La Salle single-season record
-Welling is tied for second in the league in doubles (15)

Joey Ravert is tied for third in the A-10 in home runs (8)

Mark Williams is 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA in his last two starts
Scouting the Hawks-The Hawks took two of three at Dayton last weekend before falling to Rider and Monmouth this week
-SJU's John Brue was named a Collegiate Baseball Newspaper/Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week on Monday hitting .429 with seven runs scored, two home runs, and 10 runs batted in between April 21 and April 26
-Brue leads the A-10 with 44 RBI's and is second in home runs (11)
-Junior 1B Charlie Coghlin's hit .414 in April and hit safely in 14 of his 15 appearances during the month
-Justin Aungst has twice been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week. They righty is 3-0 with a 1.56 ERA on the year in 12 appearances (three starts)
