PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's varsity eight was in action for one race on the Schuylkill River against lightweight eight boats from Bucknell and Villanova. The boat faced tough conditions on a windy and choppy Schuylkill.

The V8 clocked a 7:37.1. Villanova captured the race with a time of 7:01.4 and Bucknell finished in 7:13.9.

The boat was coxed by Katie Reyes, and rowed by Catherine Goldschmidt (stroke), Emma Merrick (7), Savannah Fader (6), Amanda Ryan (5), Erika Gonzalez (4), Cora Jones (3), Maura McKenna (2) and Sofia Iaconelli (bow).

The Explorers return to action this weekend for the Knecht Cup on Mercer Lake in Princeton, N.J.
