Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J.-The La Salle baseball team dropped an 11-5 decision to Rider on Tuesday afternoon at Sonny Pittaro Field in its final nonconference game.
Junior
Joey Ravert finished 2-for-3 with four RBI's, collecting an RBI single, a sacrifice fly and a two-run double on the afternoon.
Mark Williams plated La Salle's other run with an RBI groundout and finished 1-for-3 with a run scored.
The Explorers took a 1-0 lead in the 1
st on Ravert's RBI single before the Broncs scored five runs over the first two innings.
Greg Paprocki (L, 1-2) was tagged for four runs while only getting one out in the 2
nd.
La Salle cut the deficit to two-runs in the top of the 3
rd on the RBI groundout by Williams and Ravert's sac fly.
The Broncs again answered swiftly, scoring three times in the bottom of the 3
rd and an additional run in the 4
th to take a 9-3 lead. Ravert added the two-run double in the 5
th to make it a 9-5 game but the Explorers couldn't score over the final four innings.
The Explorers enter the final weekend of the regular season as they visit Rhode Island for a three-game series beginning on Thursday.
