LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Recent La Salle graduates Ramon Galloway and
Steve Zack have gotten off to impressive starts in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Galloway has started both games for the Chicago Bulls and had 17 points, nine assists and shot 9-for-9 from the foul line in a 84-71 win over the Timberwolves on Saturday. Zack had eight points, eight rebounds and three blocks on Sunday in a start for the Philadelphia 76ers in a 85-76 loss to Boston.
Both players are back in action on Tuesday with Galloway and the Bulls playing Brooklyn at 5 PM and Zack and the Sixers taking on the New York Knicks at 5:30 PM.
Galloway was a First Team All-Atlantic 10 player as a senior in 2013 while also earning Big 5 and USBWA honors. The Philadelphia native led the team in scoring that season, averaging 17.2 points per game while distributing a team-high 127 assists. He averaged 18.8 points a contest in the NCAA Tournament, including a game-high 24 points in the NCAA Third Round win over Ole Miss.
Galloway played in five Summer League Games last offseason for the Denver Nuggets. He played for Orsi Derthona Basket Tortona in Italy during the 2014-15 season, leading the team in scoring (14.9 points per game) in 30 games. He also spent time playing in Bosnia and Germany during the 2013-14 season.
Zack finished his career seventh on La Salle's all-time rebound list with 843 rebounds. The New Cumberland, Pa. native appeared in 123 games for the Explorers and ranks second all-time in blocked shots with 169. He also was named to the 2014 Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team after leading the A-10 in rebounding [9.5 rpg] and ranking fifth in blocked shots [1.9 bpg].
