Box Score COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The La Salle women's soccer team fell to the Maryland Terrapins 1-0 on Sunday night at Ludwig Field.
Maryland's Shannon Collins put the Terrapins on the board in the 8
th minute, bending a corner kick inside the near post at the 7:17 mark. The Terps controlled corner kicks 6-0 in the opening half and 8-2 for the game.
The Terps outshot La Salle 12-4 in the opening half before the Explorers limited the home team to just six shots over the final 45 minutes. La Salle goalkeeper
Katie Getzinger made four saves against 16 shots following Collins' goal.
Deja Davis and
Kristin Haugstad each had three shots for the Explorers while
Kari Nickels and
Maci Bower both put a shot on goal against Maryland keeper Rachelle Beanlands.
The Explorers return home this week as they host the Lehigh Mountain Hawks at McCarthy Stadium on Thursday at 7 p.m.
