Lawrence gave the Explorers an early lead off a penalty corner after taking a pass from senior
Jenica Miller in the 6th minute. The lead held until the 22nd minute when Phillips found the back of the cage, also off a penalty corner, for her fifth goal of the season.
The two teams remained knotted at 1-1 until the 62nd minute when Phillips took a cross and scored her second goal of the contest.
La Salle (2-5) had five shots and two corners in the final minutes but couldn't tie the game up.
The Explorers held a 16-12 advantage on shots and a 12-7 lead on corners.
ASU's Cristina Ceppi had six saves. The Mountaineers improve to 2-6 on the season.
The Blue and Gold return home for two A-10 games next weekend versus Lock Haven on Friday and Saint Louis on Sunday.
